Tuesday April 9th

Katie and I went downstairs in the Casino to have breakfast, then we decided to take the shuttle over to the Horseshoe Casino which has been our favorite. The Casino at Harrah's is actually a riverboat attached to the Hotel. There is an upstairs and a downstairs and neither one is very large. They are in the process of building a new Casino and it will be open in a couple of months.

It was kind of a nasty day which is why we decided to take the shuttle and get dropped off and picked up at the door. We stayed there most of the day, trying some of our favorite machines, and one I wanted to try, when I watched two guys both win over $800 on our way to Texas. One of them ended up with 256 free spins. I was hoping to do the same.

Turned out I couldn't get the free spins, but I did get lucky with wilds and won $380. Katie did her regular thing and was up, and we ended the day with a net profit of just over $725.

Between $600 on the way down, $420 the previous night, and $725 today, as well as $400 at the Winstar in Oklahoma, it was a very profitable all in all.

A good night's work...

We took the shuttle back and had supper at Harrah's. Harrah's actually own both Casinos.

By now we both had enough of gambling, played a little at night but just broke even. The forecast called for rain with thunderstorms and possible severe weather, so it was good we had the car parked in the parkade.

There was a lot of lightening and thunderstorm action, and the power even went off briefly around 12:30AM. Katie and I decided we would see how road
conditions were in the morning around Sioux City and Sioux Falls, as they were getting the brunt of the winter storm, along with Rapid City.

and so ends another great day of our adventure...
more later...
