Friday March 8th

Katie spent quite a bit of time getting her sweet and sour meatballs ready for the Canadian Picnic here in the park. While she was doing that I was outside cleaning and polishing the new cart so it would look spiffy. It Does!

In the afternoon off we went to the Canadian Picnic, which was very well attended. The committee did an excellent job of getting the tables all set up and looking good. Two bottles of wine on each table, and a sign with the name of a song on it, so that when it played, it was your turn to go for something to eat. This was a potluck thing, and everyone signed up to bring something in categories.

Everyone was supposed to make enough for 8 to 10 people, but Katie made more than that. There must have been some hungry Canadians there as by the time our song was called, and we were not last, there were no meatballs left. The price of the ticket also got you some cooked pork. The meal was really good regardless, and the desserts were excellent.

Our friend Brian Connelly, was the MC, and he was terrific and funny as usual, he also knows how to sing. Great listening to his Scottish brogue.

We sat with our friends Bonnie and Al, and we had a good time. Several prizes were given out, with Al winning a bottle of wine.

Katie and I went home and just relaxed, but I know many went on to party and sing karaoke, for a few hours after.

Here are some pictures Katie took...

and so ends another great day in the valley.

more later
