Monday, Tuesday March 4th and 5th

Combining two days in one post, because we had internet problems last night and still this morning. After about 4 hours of frustration and a couple of phone calls to Time Warner(not really their fault)the agent was very helpful...managed to get everything working again.

Yesterday was mostly a shopping day for Katie and I. We had to get a load of groceries, a golf bag for me, a juicer for Katie that she cans keep in the trailer and a few other things. Spent fair amount of bucks at three different stores in a short period of time. Visa then decided when we tried to buy Katie's juicer that enough was enough and froze my card. The clerk had to call Visa and get authorization...took awhile as they had to check with TD bank...but eventually all was well again. Funny thing is Visa phoned our home in Winnipeg to ask me if the charges were legit. Hmmm...hard to answer them in Canada when we're in the US. Didn't matter though..I phoned them myself before I even heard the message.

Went out with our friends Al and Bonnie to Texas Roadhouse last night. Payback for them looking after the repairs to our mobile home. Also to celebrate 1 year of them being together. We got them each a German chocolate cupcake and stuck a candle in each one. They wished and blew them out together, followed by a nice kiss.
Katie and I who hardly every eat meat, had ribs...and were they ever delicious. Pretty big portions so it was a doggy bag for us. Had a great time with Al and Bonnie, lots of laughs and a very good time.

Today, I spent just about the whole morning working out the internet problems. We went shopping again to get just a few more things we need. Just before we went shopping, we stopped in to see our friends Brian and Linda, who we had not seen yet since arriving. They are great! both have a marvelous sense of humour, and Brian's laugh is infectious! We had a very nice visit with them, then went off shopping.

After supper, we went to Santa Fe Steakhouse to see our friend Jake Cortez who is a fantastic guitar player and singer. You have to see him to believe it! I made him a DVD called "Searching for Sugarman" because it reminded me of him, and his journey through life as a musician. If you ever get a chance to see it you will not be sorry, it is a fantastic story of a singer songwriter who never got recognized in his own Country of USA. Won't say anymore as it would be a spoiler. The name of the musician is Sixto Rodriguez.

Didn't stay to watch Jake tonight but will before we leave, was very crowded in the lounge tonight. He was glad to see us and gave Katie a big hug.

We came home and headed to the hot tub. Katie was extremely careful getting in to ensure she did not break her foot again. We had the who area to ourselves...it was really nice and the sky was clear and the stars shining.

Back home then to relax a bit and off to bed.

and so ends another great day in the Valley

more later...
